CE653B: Advancements in Concrete

Course Description

Different types of advanced concretes have been increasingly used in different situations for construction practice. While some of them are property or performance-specific, others are environment or application-specific. This course introduces students to the production and properties of special types of concretes which can be produced by changing the mixture proportions of concrete, compounds in cement, cement binder itself, etc., or by adding special materials or inclusions such as fibers, admixtures, etc. The special features of this concrete differ greatly from that of conventional concrete and hence, this course will expose students to a better and in-depth understanding of such concretes.

This process will help you immensely to get prepared for this course.

(b) Students may please note that this course is a modular course, starting from the middle (1st class will be after mid-semester examination i.e., after Oct. 18th) of the semester and completing by the end of the semester.
