Course Description
MSc or MS project courses PHY563A and PHY565A are of 11 credits each, totalling to 22 credits. A student registered in these courses would be awarded a letter grade for each course at the end of the semester. A student normally registers for both the courses and in that case, it is expected that a student will spend at least 16 hours per week on this project.
These projects are supposed to give the student a first-hand experience of working in a research environment. In contrast to the reading courses, this project is expected to have an original component. Since this may be the student's first exposure, the student may not be adequately prepared to carry out research and may partly utilize these projects for learning the necessary literature and other background material or skills.
