EE630A: Simulation Of Modern Power Systems

This course is relevant for postgraduate students of Power Engineering and final year undergraduate students of Electrical Engineering. After completion of this course, a student will be aware of the various aspects and tools used in operation and analysis of modern power systems.

Pre-requisites: Circuit analysis, basics of synchronous and induction machines, transformers, transmission line parameters and models, per unit analysis.

EE606A: Optimization For Big Data

This course covers complexity results for first order and related optimization algorithms. Such algorithms are widely applied to numerous problems in machine learning, signal processing, communications, etc. and have witnessed a surge in popularity since the advent of Big Data around 2005. Wherever possible, we will attempt to follow a generic template for the proofs, thereby unifying a large number of results in the literature.
