CE641A: Project Management

Course Description

The course will provide an introduction to fundamental aspects of project management necessary for Engineers. Students will be first introduced to an overview of project management including but not limited to: project, stakeholders, the role of a project manager, stages in planning a project, developing an aim or goal for the project, project plan, work breakdown or organizational structure, scheduling project work, workable schedule, project control, and evaluation, managing the project team, etc.. In addition, specific managerial aspects related to time, cost, resources, performance, and others will be dealt using different network scheduling methods. Further, the course will expose the students to a few case studies. 

 

 

 

Lecture Time        : T &Th: 3:35 pm to 5:05 pm

Discussion Time  : Th: 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm

Important Note:

 

This course is a modular course, commencing from the start (1st class will be on Sep. 1st) of the semester and completing by the middle of the semester (i.e., last class will be on Oct. 10th). Since the duration is only 6 weeks, please be completely involved in the course.
