Course Description
This course is relevant for undergraduate students of Electrical Engineering (typically in their third year). This course discusses various aspects involved in the modeling of power systems. Further, (one) typical steady-state, sub-transient and transient study of a power network are also discussed.
Pre-requisites - ESO203 (will aid in better understanding of this course).

Tutorial/ Discussion - via Zoom during 10 AM - 12 PM on Thursdays
Course Content
The course will tentatively have the following modules (and lectures):
- Introduction to power system structure and types of components (1 lecture)
- Basic circuit principles - three phase circuits, power calculation (2 lectures)
- Transformers and per unit analysis (3 lectures)
- Synchronous generator (4 lectures)
- Transmission line parameter calculation (5 lectures)
- Transmission line model (5 lectures)
- Power flow analysis (6 lectures)
- Fault analysis (6 lectures)
- Stability analysis (5 lectures)
Each lecture on mooKIT will typically be of duration 30 - 35 minutes.
